About the AHCDO Research Fellow Role

The incumbent will participate in a range of research activities as agreed by the HTC Director and the AHCDO Executive Committee (EC).

It is expected that a central focus of the role will be to undertake research projects predominantly related to the Australia Bleeding Disorders Registry (ABDR).

Funds are provided to the Haemophilia Treatment Centre (HTC) to employ a Research Fellow for 12 months at  approximately 0.5 FTE.

Current AHCDO Research Fellow

Dr Caitlin Rice (2024)

Fiona Stanley Hospital, Western Australia

Caitlin has been working in Australia on an Out of Program Fellowship with the aim of gaining further research experience in non-malignant hematology and bleeding disorders.  She is currently the Clinical Thrombosis and Haemostasis Fellow at Fiona Stanley Hospital with Dr Stephanie P’ng and commenced role as AHCDO Research Fellow in 2024.

Her research projects are focused on Type 3 Von Willebrand disease and Acquired haemophilia in Australia.
