AHCDO Research Fellow - 2024 Application Round

Funds are provided to the Haemophilia Treatment Centre (HTC) to employ a Research Fellow for 12 months at up to 0.5 FTE

The incumbent will participate in a range of research activities as agreed by the HTC Director and the AHCDO Executive Committee (EC). It is expected that a central focus of the role will be to undertake research projects predominantly related to the Australia Bleeding Disorders Registry (ABDR).

The opportunity

You'll be working with the Australian Haemophilia Centre Directors' Organisation, a Not-for-Profit organisation advising on the treatment for haemophilia.  You will provide clinical input into research projects and analyse data and research findings to develop valuable insights and recommendations to improve the treatment of people with bleeding disorders.

You will be based at the Haemophilia Treatment Centre that employs you and gain clinical experience in the management of haemophilia and other hereditary bleeding disorders.

The position is approximately 0.5 EFT for 12 months (extension is possible).

Top up salary from the employing hospital (to a maximum of 1.0 FTE) is acceptable and encouraged, provided the conditions of the top-up salary do not interfere with the primary responsibilities of the position.

AHCDO Research Fellow Position Description

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the AHCDO ABDR Research Fellow to investigate the clinical outcomes of designated AHCDO Projects

  • Provide input into data collection and undertake data analysis and interpretation

  • Liaise with Executive Committee members regarding interpretation of data

  • Present findings to AHCDO Executive Committee, AHCDO annual Education Day and/or relevant haematology congresses

  • Prepare findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals

  • The successful candidate is responsible to the AHCDO Chairperson and Executive Committee
